The AMKSS NCC (Air) unit seeks to nurture cadets into extraordinary youth
leaders who embody the National Cadet Corps’ core values and contribute to
the development of the unit, school, community and nation.
The unit, in collaboration with NCC HQ, exposes cadets to a wide range of
activities ranging from aeromodelling, precision drills, military experiences
such as joyrides and live range, to adventure-based activities such as kayaking
and paintball. Not only do these activities instil important values and skills, but
they also inculcate an intrinsic sense of discipline and resilience. Cadets are also
imparted important knowledge about military aircrafts, drills and environmental
conservation to allow for the holistic development of each cadet. Additionally,
the cadets get to bond during their cohort camps, CAMP FORGE and Camp STEEL,
as well as annual in-school camps, which heighten their sense of belonging to
the unit.
Every year, our cadets have the opportunity to participate in a multitude of
activities. Our Secondary Three cadets can look forward to attaining their One
Star Kayaking certification after an exciting two-day kayaking course. The Sports
Championships organised by NCC HQ also provides our cadets a platform to
build camaraderie and strong friendships through competing with other NCC
units in various sports like Captain’s Ball and soccer.
This year, our PDS team put in great effort to choreograph their routine and
gave their best at the 14th PDS & FSD Competition. Although they did not win
an award, the experience was a valuable one as they learnt important lessons
about teamwork, resilience and pushing through challenges together. Our
Secondary One cadets also took part in the Air Competition organised by NCC
HQ, where Avid Ong did the school proud by clinching 2nd runner-up in the Paper
Glider Competition. We are also proud to share that both our Unit Sergeant
Major, Potluru Sathwik and Assistant Sergeant Major, Brian Lim, received the
Outstanding NCC Cadet Award which is the highest honour awarded to NCC
cadets. We are extremely proud of all our cadets for their achievements, hard
work and unwavering spirit!
NCC (Air) will continue to provide exciting opportunities for our cadets and is
committed to developing generations of outstanding leaders.
